It ensures that farmers are following the procedure, rule, and principles that necessarily meet the USDA organic standards. The same principle goes to the companies that process or handle organic goods. Before they distribute the produce to the local markets and restaurants, it must undergo a test as well.

Some organic foods are not always as expensive as people thought it was. There are some items such as bread, cereal, and coffee cost the same as the conventional ones you see on the market. Sometimes, it is a little bit less than its counterparts. As the demands for the organic products continue to grow, the cost will unquestionably lower down.

However, in some instances that you thought organic produce cost higher, might as well consider some facts. The rate is high because most farmers don’t receive any federal subsidies compared to conventional farmers. So the true growth reflection of most organic foods becomes visible. On the other hand, the price of conventional ones doesn’t reflect its actual cost of the environment and cleanups that people pay through taxes.

It is safe to conclude that organic farming is management intensive. Though it needs to undergo manual labor, its production is usually smaller than conventional ones. It does not benefit from larger scales of economic growth because it only requires producing a certain amount of goods. Though there might be a problem on limited sources, the percentage of most produce is still widely taken by consumers. Meaning, organic foods are capable of keeping sales and demands in the market.

Little did they know, organic food also uses fungicides and pesticides to prevent insects from destroying the crops. But, don’t take this negatively. There are over twenty approved chemicals that farmers use as pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers for organic use. All of which are from natural resources such as plants and animal wastes.

So before you complain about how expensive organic products are, make sure you know more about its benefits. Always choose healthy products and go natural.
